Thanks :-) thats always been a point of unclarity because I have
heard it different ways.
I have only had EURO versions and had assumed that the differences
were the cat (which
mine does have--though not factory installed.
Here (in germany anyways) since the greens were in power not long ago
(and I think even
a little before --though it was before my time here) there is a tax on
how "dirty" the car is.
An unmodified 500 SEC would cost EUR 1268 a year for taxes and one
with EURO-3 (which
is what I have got) costs EUR 337. The good ones are made in
Stuttgart by Peter Wurms.
(they were sold only at Mercedes workshops) That is what I have in my
car. It would be
interesting to see how EURO-3 stacks up with California Emissions. My
new C-class is
already EURO-4 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_emission_standards#Emission_standards_for_passenger_cars)
>From what I understand, the 560 motor is basically a bored-out 500
motor with a lot of other
niceties. I also know that Koenig in Munich had a supercharger
option for a 560. What
I would like to know is what is available for the 500 to get it up
there? Or is it a custom
job like we used to do with the Chevy motors when I was in school?
