I'd like to second the suggestion of Michelin tires.
I had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S mounted on my other toy, and loved them,
but as others have said, they wear quickly. The A/S ones aren't quite
as soft as the PS2's are, but they have better weather handling.
On the other hand, the Exalto line works well for a performance leaning
but fairly balanced tire. Decent snow handling, great water driving
ability.
Currently I have a set of 225/50-16 mounted on AMG wheels under my SEC
and can't complain.
