[W126 Coupe] Radio Goes Blank!

The Becker radio in my 300E  does the same crap and a good back hand fixes it every time...RG still lurking

Hello all;
Any assistance for my radio problems for my 1984 500SEC would be appreciated.  Specifically, when it is cold outside (like below 30 degrees), often times, but not always, when I turn the key in the ignition and start the car, the radio stays completely blank.  The antenna operates properly.  
 
But, my car has a master battery disconnect switch, and when I turn it off,then back on, the radio comes on and functions properly.  The radio in the car is a later model MB radio that was fully gone thru by the folks at Becker, and I had the same problem several years ago while living in Iowa with the original radio.  So, my assumption is the problems are not associated with the radio.  
 
Any ideas about tracking down the problem would be welcome.
