Hi everyone,
Stopped at a traffic light today, the clown behind me did`nt ! As one would expect, the Kia was approx two feet shorter after the coming together and in lots of little pieces all over the place, my SEC had a slightly remodelled bumper and a couple of small dents in the rear panel, problems grew on opening the boot (trunk) which fouled the rear windscreen trim and revealed my spare wheel sitting approx six inches higher than usual ! I`ll have to take the car for a repair estimate tomorrow or friday, however as big, old V8s are now officially all worth 38p ( 52 cents US ), I`m pretty sure she`ll be written off. I`m beginning to see a slightly worrying pattern emerging vis my ownership of Mercs :
August 2001- Drove my first SEC (420) into a tree, tree survived, car did`nt, I was fine.
September 11 2001- bought my second SEC, while driving it home "we interrupt this program with terrible news from NY", never really liked the car after that.
Mid 2003- bought third SEC (really liked that one :-)
Mid 2004- bought fourth SEC to take to pieces (to see how they`re put together)
Mid 2004- exchanged SEC#2 with Chaz Wells for a purple 500SL R129 (quite liked that)
2005-2006- supercharged, painted, birds-eye mapled etc. etc. SEC#3 (now love it :-)
May 2007- SL crashed into by a Vauxhall (GM) and written off, (later spotted on Ebay !)
Jan 2009- SEC#3 crashed into by a nasty, feeble, inadequate Kia of all things !!
It seems all the ones I like get destroyed :-(
Perhaps it`s time for me to buy myself a Volvo in their most appealing shade of babyshit beige ?
Yours in great grumpiness,
John
