Sorry, I didn't see the brown comment due to the crazy font. Last chance
effort is to change the fluid and drain convertor as suggested and put in
some Lucas transmission additive. Keep checking the fluid after to see if it
goes dark again. You got a 50/50 chance it may work.

Check the fluid for color and smell. If the color has gone brownish and the
fluid smells like old vanish or burned, the transmission is probably cooked.
If the fluid is OK, probably one of the symptoms described. BUT do not drive
it. Running the clutches without oil will burn everything up.

Kelly,
Since you gotta go in there anyway, check your trans cooler lines to the
radiator or the radiator itself is not plugged somehow as it sounds like the
fluid is a bit overcooked.
Not had this experience you describe so just shooting in the dark at this
point!
Good luck,
Dick

Bummer Kelly.
Well you have no choice now. don't drive it! get the pan dropped, drain
the torque converter, replace torque converter washer(seal) and pan washer
(seal), pan gasket, change the filter, button it up and pray.

Or a fouled tranny filter from sludge if the fluid level looks okay.
If you dump the fluid and drain torque converter each time with filter
change (30k max interval) the filter should be good. But, if you don't
change that filter by using the drive-in tranny shops that recyle the fluid
and never dreop the pan, sludge will foul out the filter after a while!
Hope it's something simple as all other possibilities are expensive.

Hi All
Today driving my 1988 560sec I stopped at a intersection and when I tried
to go forward on the green light my car would not go. Engine running fine
but the transmission was just slipping. After a minute or two of moving the
shifter and giving a lot of throttle the car started to go and I got it
home about a mile. At home in my driveway to try to back the car up and then
forward would not go anywhere. Not leaking but will not go I also had the
rear pump and the N.S. switch replaced about a year ago but can only start
car in N. Any ideas?
Thanks Kelly
