I think its important in this context to remind people who are unaware of
what emoticons are and how they are used in the new media.

> Nice to see everyone settle down.

Since my private message didn't register I decided to post this publicly.

One of the principle problems with electronic media is that it is
nearly impossible
to understand the inflection/emotion of the writer of the message.
For this reason
emoticons were developed.

For those not familiar with what these are, they are:

:-) Smiley used "nice to see everyone settle down :-)" on a
friendly note
;-) Wink used in the case of something that is meant *NOT* to
be taken seriously
:-/ Grave - Serious matter. As in my case an indictment
against a society that
is less and less polite and not as able to communicate.

Its a matter of politeness to answer emails when send to a person
directly, whereas
a "broadcast" email to the list is not necessarily intended to get
responses. :-)

Normally such things go without saying, but given the way that things have
developed :-( in this thread its clear that they need to be reviewed.

Perhaps I woke up and found myself in a different world than I grew up
in, but hey
perhaps thats what it means to be a little out of date ;-) Somethings
however never
go out of date--or perhaps should not ever go out of date :-/

No flames please. This has nothing to do with coupes, but I think it
would save a
lot of time and a lot of fragile nerves (mine included) to try to not
be ambiguous in
emails.

However on a sad note :-( I have had to "bury" my 500 SEC, without a tremendous
investment that makes no sense, I have no chance to pass German emissions. Its
unclear if I will remain a list member. Time will tell (and whether I
decide to replace it)
In this economy less is more.

Best wishes to all

Cheers

Andy
