Hi Dan,
I have not been following MBCopues posts of late but, have you gone
over the rest of the electrics? Cap and rotor? Did you replace the
coil lead?
If not, inspect cap, rotor and look for arcing on the coil lead when dark.
If you feel electrics are good all around, remove the air cleaner and
take a spray bottle with water and make wet each of the injector seals
to see if the engine idle cleans up.
Fllow with spray on the air idle valve hose connection points that you
can access. Probably can't get at the intake and air meter points. See
if there appear to be any cracks or if these hoses feel hard/brittle.
There's actually a routine (I'll try and locate) that walks you through
isolation for an air (vacuum) leak.
The above is just a cursory check. Do you have a set of fuel gauges?
These will be needed to check pressures and identify leaks.
