I just did a complete front end rebuild on my 89 560SEL. Lots of time, lots
of money, lots of patience. But what a difference. I did upper control
arms, inner lower control arm bushings, outer lower control arm ball joints,
rebuilt the "dogbones", new shocks & springs, idler arm rebuild kit, both tie
rods, steering shock, center link, bushings upper control arm to sway bar,
bushings lower control arm to guide joint rod, steering box, probably a few
things I'm forgetting.

Markus:

I am sensitive to a cars front end handling so I suspect I'll do the same as
you pretty soon. Do you have a preference for parts to use, i.e. brand? In
the US rebuild market for example, Moog parts were desirable. Is there a
preference with aftermarket brands? I have assumed that Bilstein shocks are
the preferred shocks?
