I believe so. I used the "official" name, since that
is how (most) parts houses refer to it. I am sending
you off-list information, which should be coming your
way momentarily.

Attila,
The repair shop specifically said the cold start valve is not working. But I
can't find it listed on any of the parts supplier lists. Is this what it is
really called or does it go by another name?
Tom

Try first unplugging the wires to the idle speed solenoid.
Middle of engine, below air cleaner, shiny, with 2 vacuum
lines (about 1 inch around) going to it. If your idle goes
up, it works. If it doesn't, plug wires back in, rap on it
with a screw-driver, a good 5 to 6 times. See if idle changes.
Next, rap on the OVP relay. Small box on firewall, close
to driver's side. There are a few other wires you can dis-
connect, but It's too complicated to explain in writing. It
could possibly be the EZl, or even the crank position sensor
(green wire) being deteriorated. If you are close to
Jacksonville, we can check it out. Free.

Hi Gary
Where and what is the EZL?
And to all others who would like to chime in...I finally took the car in for
a range of service items. New plugs, wires (rotor and cap just needed
cleaning as they are fairly new), and the idle is still rough and almost
stalled out when stepping on the gas (even when warm). Fuel pumps are good
as well as the filter, compression looks good and everything looks good on
their test equipment. He did say the cold start valve does not appear to be
working when cold. But would this explain the stalling when warm? I am not
sure if he checked all vacuum lines for clogs, breaks etc. He suggested the
dealer look at it but if I can find a good shop in the bay area that has all
the test equipment and codes AND knows these cars, that would be my
preference. The car is originally a TX car so not all local shops have the
codes.
Happy Holidays to all.

Check the vacuum line going to the EZL to make sure it has vacuum and is not
broken or pulled off the engine side.
