[W126 Coupe] Steering Wheel Upgrade

I should be more clear -- I'm only interested in Mercedes steering
wheels; ones that will fit the SEC without major modifications, i.e.,
I want to use my existing airbag. If the later CLK wheel fits, I'd
like member confirmation before I commit.

How do you define "direct fit"? If you mean unbolt and bolt on, then
I believe the answer is no. You may need a particular adapter to make
it fit, and may need to rewire things to get it to plug in. I don't
think its super difficult, but a little extra work to be aware of.
Having said that, there are AMG, Nardi, Lorinser, etc wheels that are
"plug and play" that were designed for our specific models.

Can someone advise on an easy wheel swap for my '87 560 SEC? I've
heard that the 2000/2001 CLK is a direct fit -- I don't want to get
into harness changes and the like. I don't need paddles, either, just
a nice easy-to-install MB upgrade.
Thanks.

Bill
