[W126 Coupe] 1986 560 sec died on road

I had the same issue with an 82, I jumped the relay as Marcus said and still
no fuel pump noise, turns out I had a loose wire at the fuel pump from road
debris. Make sure when you jump 7&8 you hear the pump running.

You need to figure out if there is a spark issue, fuel issue, or something
else.

1) what exactly is it doing? is it cranking and trying to start, meaning
battery/electrics seem god, just not starting up? or is it not cranking
either? or a weak crank? (battery, starter, coil, etc issue?)

2) try taking out the fuel pump relay and jumping the pins 7&8 with a wire,
does the fuel pump hum/spin? If so, try starting it then. If still not,
try removing air cleaner and pouring some starter fluid in there, see if it
starts and dies after you stop pouring fluid in - this indicates fuel issue

3) check for spark if fuel checks out okay

4) if all that checks out okay (good spark, fuel, etc) maybe something like
crank position sensor?

I'm new to mbcoupes. My 86 560 stalled out on road and would not restart.
Usually this is furl pump relay. I had one on hand changed and did no good.
Checked overload relay fuse it was good. Checked rotor good. Any ideas
would be appreciated. Thanks, Neville Pearson
