[W126 Coupe] High Idle and ABS Light

My 1989 560SEC Euro has an interesting problem.  At random intervals,
anywhere from a cold start to 30 minutes driving time, the ABS light will
come on and simultaneously the idle speed will increase to about 1400 rpm.
After another random period, anywhere from 10 seconds to 15 minutes, the
high idle / ABS light issue will disappear.  It's a little disconcerting to
think that the braking system is connected to the throttle ;-)

 

Any thoughts?
