[W126 Coupe] window leak

Hi Robert,
Could be that the rubber seal needs replacing like Jonathan says, or it could be that the seals have just hardened a bit with age. I had the rubber seals harden on my 91 560 SEC, but before I went to the trouble of replacing them (which can be quite costly) I thought I would try some kind of rubber restorer. I bought myself a Gummi Pflege Stift Rubber Care Stick on Ebay, looks a bit like a shoe cleaner. I gave it a try and I was amazed. It brought all my rubber seals like new again. I can't remember the price, but it was cheap. I would give it a try first if your seals are not actually broken and just hardened a little.
Good luck.
Vance

Subject: Re: [W126 Coupe] window leak
Just had a car wash and my 1985 SEC started to drip water in along the upper part of my drivers side window.
Does anyone know if clear silicon (from tube) can be run along the outside of the window frame or is there
a better solution since rainy season is coming up.
Thanks,
Robert
