Hi Jay,
I'd go for H&R 'comfort' if they are still available. I've driven my
friends SEC with H&R 'sport' springs and Penta 16's... it rides like a
rock. That's why I chose 'comfort'. With the comfort you get great
handling and flat cornering without the harsh ride IMHO. I suppose
track driving may be a different story.
Been running for 3-4 years now H&R Comforts with new rubber spring
pads corrected form factory spec so the nose is 1 inch lower than the
rear (said to be the correct rake) and with Lorinser 18's with
correct offset and Pirelli somethings 275 rear and 255 or 265 front
with no spacers. By the way, the alignment is within spec (caster,
camber and toe) all around as in even the rear wheels well after a bit
of extra fussing.
Gansta lean noted a few years back was corrected with new rear
sub-frame bushings and the rubber diff mount replaced. By the way the
'gangsta' shows up upon lowering where the rear wheel opening to tire
distance is far more obvious. It probably exists on many of these
older MB's but, no one really notices with factory springs.
Regards,
Dick
