What year is the SEC?  If its 86-88, try swapping the OVP relay.  You can't do it if its 89-91 as the relay is larger and won't fit in the slot of the earlier years.  If memory serves me right the ABS is tied in through the OVP relay.  Also check the fuse in the relay.

Hi chaps,

My ‘86 560SEL [my SEC is fine at the moment] ABS light stays on ‘sometimes’ when I start the car. Not always, in fact most of the time it doesn’t, it goes out as soon as the motor starts, as it should.

When it does stay on however, if I turn the motor off straight away and restart it immediately, it goes out like nothing was ever wrong.

Can someone tell me where to start looking for the fault?
