There are dollies that you can put under the rear wheels to keep them
off of the ground.
I think I've seen them at a couple of the rental yards, and I know I've
seen them under a tow truck or two, when they had to have 4 off the
ground, but didn't have a flat bed truck.
If you can find one of those to borrow, that would keep all four wheels
up, without taking the drive shaft apart.
That being said, it's not all that hard to take the drive shaft off. I
think I had to use a larger hex key than those before mentioned, but
they did come off with not too much trouble, other than breaking the
bolts loose at first.
