John, I am not Bellamy, but this might help. Look on your radiator
cross member and look for one of these two placards. If you have the
red one, you have Freon; the green one and you have Suva. MB moved
from R 12 to R 134a around 1992, but it wasn't a complete switch at a
point in time. They phased it in, so you will have to look for the tag
to know for sure.
