Hi Doc:

Had similar issue with my 91....filters fixed it right away. When I tried to accelerate it felt like the car was running on 5 or 6 cyl. instead of 8. It's a cheap fix.

 My 91 SEC with 91,000 miles lags with a quick push of  accelerator and almost cuts off when leaving a red light but takes off  normally if the accelerator is pushed slowly.  
 This started a couple of days ago and it is slightly irregular  at idle also.  There have been no changes in gas  etc... 

  
 The first thing that comes to my mind is dirt? in a gas  filter. I put some gas cleaner in yesterday.
  
 I bought the car 6 months ago so I'm not sure when specific  maintenance was performed i.e..plugs etc.... 
  
 Any other ideas experts?
