[W126 Coupe] UPS

We buy a lot of parts from the US and we use the US Postal service expedited service. When E-baying we specify or don't buy from that seller. They are the least expensive, sometimes take a little longer, but have never let us down. You can track all packages into Canada and then its handled by Canada Post, they can be pathetic on deliver, but again have never let us down. Once delivered, a posting goes back to US postal to verify. No brokerage charges or extras, unlike all private couriers.

I agree with you too Elm. DHL is the worst, FedEx next. UPS is certainly the best. We use all 3 and I can't stand the first two.

UPS drivers may be union but at least they are UPS employees.
FedEx hires contractors that could care less about customer service.
I've personally had 3 FedEx drivers fired from my route since they feel that my rural location doesn't warrant the same service and timely delivery as folks living in town.
If I have a choice for delivery, I specify UPS- If FedEx is my only option, I will only deal with them if I can't get my item thru another vendor or delivery carrier.

With that said, your situation sucks to say the least but could realistically happen with any major carrier (unfortunately). That is why I insure any rare, one-off items to the hilt so that if it does disappear, I at least get a little something $$$ wise for the effort.
Just my 2 cents.

All UPS drivers are organized by the Teamsters union.

I think we all know the history and reputation of that organization.

FedEx drivers are independent contractors and not employees, thought the government in its eternal search for more revenues is trying to force a classification change.

All,

UPS has officially lost the AMG spoiler I had ordered through Jonathan. So you may want to think twice about using UPS to ship rare/hard to find/valuable items as their tracking number apparently does not mean much. How they can lose something as wide as a front bumper is beyond me.
