[W126 Coupe] SEC Ignition blew up

Hein;

If you jippo'd the starter and it fired up right fine, the ignition module is OK. If the car has been sitting for a long time the problem could be the ignition switch itself (less probable) or the starter solenoid (more probable), or connections (unplug and replug everything). After running the car it still won't restart? If it was Lucas you'd simply introduce the solenoid to the big hammer.

However, the German stuff takes personal offense really easily. You may have to take the starter out.

Talk about SEC….

Decided it’s time after sitting for four years to fire up the SEC, check it out for a month or so and maybe drive it for the summer.

Turn the key and nothing happens.

Jippo the starter and she fires up right nice.

Time perhaps for a new ignition? Can’t see the ignition control module PMSing….

Any thoughts?

Hein
