As Markus said, he is one-man show and busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger. 

So while I understand your frustration in not getting a call back, saying he is "not a man of his word" implies a LOT more than just not returning phone calls, especially with no further explanation. 

In all of my dealings with him, he's always been above board (WAY above board) and helpful. Although I too sometimes have to be patient knowing how busy he is.

I just don't agree with your methods. It's not like he is some new guy on the list that ripped a bunch of people off...he's got thousands of helpful posts, and many references. 

There's worse things in the world, to be sure, but the implication was of much more than what you now explained to be the problem.
