On the later engines the AIR injection is completely internal, the air pump
is plumbed through the block and heads directly to the exhaust. There are
no air injection tubes in the exhaust. The only tube on the exhaust is
the EGR. The air tubes around the injectors are for the idle air not the
smog pump. If you want to use an AIR injection pump (smog pump) for some
reason you could use an electric one remotely mounted. However, you would
have to plumb it down stream of the O2 sensor using Megasquirt.
