Markus,
Aren't you supposed to be on vacation?
I guess you planned your route based on where you could get internet access.
Cheers,
Axel

Sam,
I assume you recently bled the system so you have ruled that out as a possible issue (old fluid or air in the lines)?
Replacing the master is about what you said. I haven't replaced mine, but on my parts car I'm dismantling, I have taken the mc off, and it was like you said. I'd take the old fluid out first, makes it less messy to do. Remove the lines, the 2 or 3 bolts, and it pulls forward and out.
good luck!

Hi all,
Just wondering if there is anything special about replacing the Brake Master Cylinder...
86K miles, 20 years... Time to replace? Not getting good pedal feel. Pedal will go to bottom with applied pressure. Could be air in system or bad Master Cylinder? There is no leaks in the system.
It looks like two bolts at the brake booster and two brake lines need to be disconnected, pull out with fluid reservoir still in place? Rags under assembly to catch any brake fluid...
Pour out old fluid from reservoir, install new Master Cylinder and reservoir in reverse and bleed system with new DOT4 fluid?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you,
Sam
