[W126 Coupe] Are W126 models fitted with a Pollen Filter ?

Before you do anything, find out if your E500 was equipped with the pollen filters. It probably was for E500s but not all E320 were so equipped.  It is located above the blower motor. There are instructions on replacing the blower motor in the benzworld discussion forum. Its a real hassle especially the wiper assembly and rubber gasket, but once you remove that the other pieces aren't so bad. My filter was really dirty and may have restricted air flow. Re-installing the wiper ass'y and the attached rubber gasket which sits flush to the bopttom of the windshield is difficult because the plastic rain channel has become old and brittle and the tongue which inserts in the rubber channel breaks easily.

I believe the pollen filters started in '94. My W124 is equipped with it. I found that it was rare and replacement part scarce. So I vacuumed  and washed it and reused it after 15 years of not knowing it was there.
