I don't know anything about Bruce's wheels and have no interest one
way or the other, but I strongly recommend the size:
17x8.5 in front and 17x10 in rear.
I no longer have my SEC, but it had 18's and I loved them. A little
harsh, but rode like it was on rails. The set on it when I bought it
were damaged, so I replaced them. I replaced 18 x 10's with 18 x 9s
in the rear. Lost just a little (but noticeable) stiffness in
turning, and missed it. I got a really good deal on the set that I
bought, so I went with it. If I had it to do over again, though, I'd
go with the sizes I posted above.
I think they would provide the best compromise among the three main
characteristics: Look, drivability and ride smoothness. With the
17s you won't say: It's too rough. or... It's not stiff enough (as
long as you have the 10s in back.) or... It doesn't look cool
enough. It'll look right and feel right.
On the rear, you would go with 35 x 275 or even 285, I think; and on
the front it would probably be something like 40 x 245.
That's my two cents.
