I agree -- my cars only receive Shell or Chevron gas (the two oil
company credit cards I own). Now that Chevron has taken over Texaco
they have put their trademark Techron in Texaco gas too, but it's more
difficult to find Texaco stations in Northwest Oregon these days.
Chevron/Shell gas is DEFINITELY better in terms of running quality
than lesser brands -- especially Arco, 76 (ConocoPhillips) and the like.

I generally go across the river to Vancouver to get my gas. Before
Washington State raised their gas taxes a few years ago, I could get
Chevron for 18-20 cents a gallon less than in Portland. Plus, Oregon
is one of only two states (New Jersey is the other) where you can't
pump your own gas, and I MUST pump my own gas.
Although all stations in Oregon let me pump my own gas for my
motorcycle. Go figure. The surcharge for pump labor in Oregon is
somewhere around 3 cents per gallon, FYI.
