Mike, Mike,
My 380 with 1st gear start [ came in 380's] 307 rear end, no cats
and now new heads with euro cams is not a bad set up at 22 MPG hwy.
I am very pleased with 256K on this engine without going into the bottom.

B,C, "83" 380 SEC AMG 548K

Powder coating takes place at around 400F. Putting it on an exhaust that can
get in excess of 1,000F is a waste of time since it's coming off the first
time you drive the car. It's Jet-Hot or some other ceramic process only for
exhausts.

Keep in mind that the 380 is seriously underpowered in our 3,800 pound cars
and putting in a fabulous (e.g., expensive) stainless exhaust system really
isn't worth it. If you're planning on keeping that car for the next 10-20
years, then fine, but you'll never have sufficient power with that V8 in the
car. If you're planning on upgrading to a 560 engine eventually, then do the
good exhaust.

Later,
Mike R.
