Rick, here are some OE wheel sizes and some optionals that usually work. The proper ET is dependent predominately by the width of the wheel.
W124
6.5 J x 15 H2 49 mm Standard C124, '88 thru '93
6.5 J x 15 H2 44 mm Standard C124, '94 thru '95
6.5 J x 15 H2 43 mm Standard W124 sedan, 1986:
7.0 J x 15 H2 41 mm Standard Sportline w124
7.0 J x 16 H2 37 mm On '93 400E, from a '99 CLK Cabrio
8.0 J x 16 H2 34 mm On '92 300CE Sportline, from SL500, 500E
8.25Jx 17 H2 34 mm EVO II on ’93 500E
8.5 J x 17 H2 30 mm AMG AERO II monoblocks on ’93 500E
