i once had a similar kind of problem. i notice my top radiator hose would colapse and not because it was old...there was some kind of vacuum. anyhow, i remember in another car of mine the radiator lower hose had a spring inside it. i suspect this was to keep the form of the hose and to prevent it from colapsing. so i found a spring and put in my top radiator hose and have never had the problem again. just fyi

That reminds me -- I have a very nice spare 560SEC radiator whose neck did separate. It was later repaired and reinforced with an inner sleeve held in place and sealed with JB Weld. It is now stronger than stock.

Retail $494, Rusty's price for new $326, buy it for 40% of that ($130) plus shipping.
