Hi Rob,

You don't say if the car is moving or at rest , or if the fans are working when this occurs.. But on the surface it sounds as though the radiator isn't working well enough? I assume you have a 50/50 antifreeze mix in there but if the radiator is clogged or partially so.... it won't pass the heat off to the air passing by the fins resulting in the condition described..
