[W126 Coupe] Reverse...Slow to Resond

I have an issue that I would like some input on.  Drove my '91 560 SEC  
today.  Putting the vehicle in reverse met with sluggish to no  response.  Fluid 
level is full.  Mileage is 96,000 miles. Have had the  vehicle for 1/1/2 years, 
purchased @ 88,000 miles.  No history of  transmission service, and I have yet 
to schedule a 90,000 service.  In  "drive" and while accelerating through the 
gears, performance and response is  good. Any advice before I visit a 
mechanic?
