Hi Jack,
That condensation is an indicator that some amount of water is getting
in the car from somewhere. Have you had the windscreen replaced in
recent years? Sometimes the contractor can mess things up by damaging
certain fasteners or by poor application of the heated urethane seal
leaving a gap or two. Under the chrome roof/windscreen trim there are
several metal rivets that can develop rust-out areas in the roof forward
edge. I've seen, repaired and documented this on one MB 300SE while the
windscreen was being replaced.
Easy enough to take a look by removing the two upper horizontal chrome
pieces. I've got a file around here with the photos and procedure for
removing the windscreen. Plus the write-up on the MB fix for the roof
edge and repair to the air damn under the wiper fascia if that's leaking.
Anyway, I'd start with the roof edge if you have already checked the
sunroof drains.
Regards,
Dick
