Is this a serious problem? Sorry, it's hard to understand what the problem
is.
First off, DON'T start the car in a garage.
It sounds as though you removed your mufflers replacing them with a straight
pipe to the back. Which mufflers?? The one in the middle and the one at
the back? (Not that it really matters) The car will sound louder, yes?
And the smell... is it gasoline (petrol) or is it exhaust fumes? This is
important. Is there gasoline (petrol) leaking in your engine compartment?
Look very carefully if there is wetness that smells like petrol. If so,
don't start your car in a garage, and particularly DON'T start it if the
garage is attached to your house, OK?
If your car starts and is running fine, and your exhaust system is fine
(except loud) and you run your car in your garage until you can't breath and
you can't see, then you DO have a fairly serious problem and it's NOT your
car.

Hello.
I want to know if somebody can help me with a smelling problem, I have a 500
SEC 1984 .I heard an air outlet in the rear part and I realized that there
were like two round shaped noise absorbers, and they were very rusty. I took
them away connecting with a direct tube. I thought that could be a noise
problem, but it was no so, the only problem that I realized was, that in a
garage when starting the engine and after a few moments I couldn't keep my
eyes open and can't breath. What I don't know if that things that were taken
off, were for recycling the air comming from the engine backwards inside, or
by the time, started a VALVE problem and the petrol comes out directly from
the injection or it has an INJECTION problem. I'll apreciate any comment
about this.
Thank very much in advance for your replies
