Igor, there is a process of elimination that is required. The basics are fuel and spark. Fuel systems contain pumps, filter,accumulator,lines,fuel distribution,injectors, etc. Spark, contains, cap,rotor,wire,plugs,EZL,timing,battery,alternator,belts,etc. The diagnosis of your problem will require a combination of these items and any other symptoms. Is everything normal and working when the engine fails? Were all the gages working normally? Did the engine die immediately or gradually? When you waited a few minutes did the engine fire up immediately and how long did it keep running? Did the low fuel light come on even though you have a lot of fuel? Did the ABS light come on? Did the gages start to act erratically and the radio shut off?
    Basically if you cannot answer these questions and are not knowledgeable in mechanics and in particularly the mechanics of these Mercedes, you need to find a competent mechanic in you area that is trustworthy and have them resolve this for your.
    My best guess at this time is a fuel issue, but this is a big guess. 
Suggest Vancouver area members get you a name of a shop to repair.

  Hello,

  I have 1988 560 SEC Euro with 192.000 KM . Recently vehicle started to stall engine first when idling and just recently in the drive. Engine just dies on me.If I leave it for few minutes it will start again . Had vehicle towed to my home today and planning to send it for the repairs. I would honestly appreciate in anyone with similar problems can advise what could be the problem .Thanks in advance.
