[W126 Coupe] 560 SEC question: Pinstripes

I really don't like pinstripes, and have seen them on an assortment of SECs
and SELs. They don't fit the clean lines of the car; I find pinstripes
match chrome fender trim, and chrome door edging really well though.
Regards,
Eddie

Hi Andy,
Years ago, in the mid 1970's, a fellow who worked in the local Benz
dealership did some pin-striping for me.. He said it was his job to put a
stripe on each car as it was received into inventory. This was done with
paint and a really long bristled brush..
He did at least 4 striping jobs for me over time, and they have all lasted
well, including a large Tonka dump truck that withstood the young (at the
time) attentions of my nephew at play... :)
Paint, in each case was applied atop any clear coats, and seems to have
stood up well.
My SEC has been striped over the clear coat all those years ago too....
Still looks super..
My two cents.. MBL
