What "last comment"....the one about buying 126's? I didn't say anything
about an SEC....I recently bought a 300SEL however.

Markus, that last comment just threw your gas prices argument out the
window. As nice as they are the SECs are not known as fuel efficient.

I agree with most people not knowing how to drive them. Especially in
Colorado. You would think for a place that has good winters most every
year, people would learn how to drive in the snow. Nope, still too many
idiots out there.

Another reason for an SUV is cargo room.

My personal opinion is that SUVs are overrated, gas guzzlers, and most of
them plain ugly. And unfortunately most owners don't know how to drive them
either.

Especially if you are buying something newer that you plan to keep for a
while, you may want to consider things like where the price of gas is
headed, etc. Maybe an AWD car if you really want that feature, plenty of
those around (Audi, Jag, MB, Ford, etc). If you don't mind something older,
get a MB diesel wagon!

I don't know what I'd buy if I had to buy a "new car" nowadays. Oh yeah,
wait a minute, I do...that's why I keep buying older MBs (W126's!).

Now that we are expecting our first little rug rat, it is time to get my
wife a new car. We were thinking a small SUV, being in Colorado AWD can have
its benefits. I was wondering if anybody has any opinions, likes or dislikes
about small SUV models or other ideas. Since my 1 drivable SEC is in the
garage being torn apart, and my other SEC had the ass end of it ripped out,
those are out. Plus it is a pain in the ass trying to get a baby seat in the
back!

Thanks,

David
