Andy,
I agree on the TX, NM and especially S CO.
I have done many cross country tours and trying to find an ideal spot is
challenging. Hot weather makes it even more interesting.
Last year in June I drove my 65 Sportwagon ( 5 years to build) in the Hot
Rod Power Tour for 4,500 miles covering 15 states in the high 90-100 temps
with pouring rain and had a ball!!
Depending on the date you can count me in for the meet.

<And I was just trying to see who wanted to get together!>
A get to gether would be a great thing but the idea of doing it has turned
into a "beer wars" discussion that has over ridden any serious thought of a
meeting.
Only a few have made suggestions: on 2-9 Brent optted for KC ,also on 2-9
Frank said NM, 2-10 Mike R and Bob C mentrioned LV, 2-10 Steve Nervig voted
LV, 2-11 Mike Beyersdoerfer mentione thqt in the summer LV is HOT! The beer
messages vastly out numbered the responces regarding a meeting or even if
there is any serious interest in such a meeting.
My reply on 2-9 was to think about 2 things, a city with many things to do
and sights to see, and for the area try any large city in TX, NM, or
Southern CO. These areas expecially TX are more central and could draw
people from the So East, mid west, central and maybe even from the left
coast. Then if this SEC meeting could be made to coinside with a MBCA
section event we would have a very large group of MB lovers to exchange
ideas, experiences, tales of good and bad happenings, and generally get to
know each other. Besides local section members will know where the good/best
places to eat are and where good beer can be found for the beer lovers.
There were a few ideas presented about having regional meetings and then
eventually a national one. Again no definitive responce. If anyone in the
central and so western area wants to do a regional then the MBCA NM section,
of which I am a member, is going to hold their anuall car show in
Albuquerque at the Sheraton in June. This is just a show and shine car show
to show off their cars, no judgeing. The Sheraton sets aside a goodly
portion of their parking lot and tapes it of just for this car show. I'd be
more than happy to cooridinate such a happening between the NM section and
the SEC peoples if any one is interested. Personally I'd much prefer a
singel get to gether from people all over the country and make a big deal of
it.
So ends my ranting on this subject, lets see if anything develops form here
or if it just dies a quiet death.
