[W126 Coupe] SEC Transmission

Help, 

Looking for a Transmission for 87 SEC. The issue I have is the car will not pull, the reverse gear is fine. I had this problem initially appear 6 months ago and I found some insulation blocking the gear shift. Now it appears the drive gear is gone. I received some information pertaining to a valve or piston as a cause and not need to replace the tranny . Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
