[W126 Coupe] CLAY'S START/DRAIN

I'd guess that you're getting a spark every time but not able to see it. The SEC has an alarm system and radio that draw power all the time. If there is an aftermarket radio in there, it draws some too. Take the negative lead loose and put an ammeter between the cable and the battery to see how much current is being pulled. Now, if someone else can do it to a healthy SEC, you can find out what's normal. THEN you can start pulling fuses until the current drops to "normal" and troubleshoot that circuit.

Later,

Hi Dick,
Thanks for the ideas, I've thought of the battery and had it replaced it was still under warranty and they tested it and nothing was wrong, but I got a new one out of them anyway so that wasn't the problem. If you have to step on the gas pedal a 1/4 to 1/2 to restart after running awhile would you think it would be lean or rich ? I not getting any black smoke like I was before while playing with fuel settings. It running a teeny bite rough now that I have leaned it out. On the drain I noticed that when I switched the horn switch the louder ones didn't work, but the next day the did, anything there to look at? I'm going to change to the new window switch I got any see if something got messed up in there when I changed the last one. Let you know what going on. Heh I forgot , I take the ground off when not in use and when replacing some times I get I very little spark and other nothing.
