Richard the reason that I was asking about the vaccum thermo swich, and the warm up regulator is because when I asked the group about the unburned black exhaust smoke bellowing out my tailpipe it was communicated that my injectors might be leaking off or my warm up regulator. I have replaced four injectors and will finish the other 4 this weekend and wanted to know about the other while working on my 1984 380 SEC. Any help regarding the mentioned repair projects like does the replaced fuel injectors need to be bled prior to attempting to starting the engine. Regards, Cecil

I ask because they rarely need replacement (adjustment is usually enough if they get out of adjustment) and there can be better alternatives, depending on what you want to do, when you do need to replace it.rider tn wrote, On 12/12/2008 12:09 PM:

Pretty much follow straight back from the oil dipstick and you'll be on top of it. In 84 it would be electrical and perhaps vacuum controlled. You need to read the specific model year spec for the 84. MB made numerous revisionsduring these early years and they included the warm-up regulator. If you have a problem, Bellamy will be the best source of info.Thermo-time switch is a sender unit bolted to the head that typically has two vacuum lines that plumbed into it.Regards,Dick

Hello Gents just wanted to ask in this forum about 1984 380 SEC about a warm up regulator, just wanted to check it if possible while I am replacing the injectors. Jonathan I wanted to follow your steps, but needed to know the location of the warm up regulator, is this item the vaccum thermo time switch by chance? Thanks for any help.
