Myth, mine (1991) idles smooth as can be.  I have had to replace the idle speed control valve.

Hi all,

I was speaking to a guy about the cams in a 560 motor and his information from an older mechanic was that the MB engineers has specified them to be a little 'lumpy' due to the longer stroke of the motor.

This was in reference to an idle problem I've been having.

The theory was that you could never get a 560 motor to idle 100% smooth as a result.

Urban myth? True? Utter rubbish?
