Camran, If you are worried about your cooling system, an additive is not going to help. I'd recommend a cooling system flush, replacing the thermostat, checking the condition of the hoses and replacing the radiator cap. A cooling system flush is rather involved:- Drain the system (lower radiator hose is a good spot)- Run the system with water and dishwater detergent for 1/2 hour- Drain system and flush with water until water comes out clean- Fill with water and citric acid (MB sells this, you can also get it at a pharmacy)- Run for 1/2 hour- Drain and rinse until water comes out clean Make sure the heater is set to max heat and defrost so that you clean out the heater block. You may also want to clean out the monovalve, a lot of crud seems to collect around it.Even if an additive was able to loosen the crud and build-ups, you'd still need a flush to get it out of your cooling systemRegards, Axel J. Does anyone have a suggestion of some sort of radiator additive that could clean out (even partially) the water jets in a 420SEL engine? My 420 SEL with 120K miles is beginning to over heat (the gage goes up to the line between 80 and 120) and I am not sure if a new radiator or cleaning the water jets in the engine would help.Thanks,Camran90 560SEC, 91 420SEL
