Hi Jonathan,
I bought the wiring looms mainly to rob the plugs and connectors.
Motec here do quite a few after market ECU for competition cars and sell to
the public. They adapt into the existing engine loom.
Do you mean 'Wold or Wolf"?
PCS do transmission controllers for the Benz trans. I was hoping that these
days when Computer controlled trances are common, a single engine/trans
controller may be available.

I'd ditch the factory wiring straight away.. Wold makes a Good unit down
your way! I also know of a unit an aftermarket unit for your transmission
as well:)

I have been planning to change the motor and trans in my '86 560SEL, to a
2003 W211 E55 AMG 5.5 Litre with 5 speed paddle shift trans.
I started looking for AMG stuff for the 560 but couldn't find any that
wasn't in running cars, then I found the E55 unit complete with everything.
It was in Holland and I hadn't even heard of an E55 but quickly learned that
at 479hp and 516pf, it was a serious power unit.
For a couple of years now, I've been collecting any bit that I found to help
with the grafting.
Then I bought an Audi A8L and decided to sell the 560SEL. Don't need two
very long cars but I still want to do the project after all to time, money
and planning I've put into it.
Well, out of the blue, up popped an '89 560SEC, in pretty good condition,
right here in my home city and cheap, so I bought it and the plan is still
on, when time permits.
This is what the 17x10 and 17x9 RH wheels are for.
The electronics seem to pose the greatest challenge and though I now have
the complete wiring loom, instrument cluster, accelerator pedal and gear
shifter from an E55, I'm leaning towards aftermarket engine/trans management
instead of Benz.
