John;
I forget what your W140 is. On the 1993 300SD the Supply Vacuum Pump Motor for the central locking system is under the back seat, right side. It would be inside an insulated box of some description. You would access it by lifting the rear seat cushion... somewhere (sides likely) there would be clips/pushbuttons/whatever to unlock the cushion in order to lift and remove it.
The rest of the sensors are likely in the luggage compartment (trunk) right side behind the side trim panel. Hopefully you don't have to look at them.
If I had cranky passengers who couldn't close the doors, I'd put them in the trunk along with the miscellaneous sensors. That would quieten things down considerably.

Hi again everyone; I am still hunting the elusive vacuum pump for the door and trunk lid closer. Anyone have a "landmark" in the trunk that I can look near? Is it close to the antenna mast? I have looked very briefly, but did not find it. I was hoping to have my daughter pull it out for me since I am still on crutches right now. I then would try to rebuild it with the after market pump that I bought on ebay that I was told was not the correct pump. I love the car, but my passengers seem to not be able to give the darn doors a good slam when they get in and "voila" road noise. I hate road noise! Is the vacuum pump up near the rear shelf in the trunk, or down by the floor on the driver's side? I can at least try to rebuild it while I am sitting home recuperating from knee surgery.
