Why were your compressors seizing? I think I have that problem. Tore the hell out of two clutches. Thinking about a new compressor.

Franco,

Might I suggest a proper diagnosis, not just "what the heck"? Speaking as someone who almost got rid of my SEC due to a/c issues in the first year, I know what I'm talking about. It "pays" to have the system looked at by someone who knows what they are doing and replaces the right parts, if any are needed to be replaced at all. It took 3 times to get it right with my car. Luckily under warranty. But still a PITA. Finally took it to a different place that took the time to investigate why each compressor kept seizing, found the problem and got it working.

In your case, you are describing it working while driving, and then not working while stopped. That sounds like lack of airflow cooling things down. That's why people pointed you to the fans as possible culprits. That's assuming the compressor is still spinning when it occurs - easy to figure out - get out and look under the hood. If it is, then have the pressures checked. If they are good, you have enough freon, the parts are working and you have an airflow issue. Replacing the pieces you said may have been done "but what the heck" won't necessarily fix this problem, as they may indeed not be the problem.

I recommend having it looked at and diagnosed properly or you may spend money unnecessarily and still have an issue.
