[W126 Coupe] transmission problem

My 560 SEC is an 89 with 66,000 miles on it.  I've enjoyed the 1st gear start kit for several years now.  The other day my transmission started shifting down to second gear all on its own.  It happened at speeds of around 45 to 50.  Then it would refuse to shift back to 3rd.  If I came to a complete stop and started driving again it would go through the gears and then shift down to 2nd again.
   
  Any suggestions??  Do you think it is electric or a vacuum problem?  Might it be related to the 1st gear start module?
   
  Any help would be appreciated.
