[W126 Coupe] Alarm system

I am honestly not sure that an SEC is much of a target for thieves
these days, which is just fine with me.

Most thieves are really looking for things in cars that they can
smash and grab (i.e. don't leave anything visible that's worth any
money), not really to steal cars.

If they do steal cars, they are looking for cars they can either sell
rapidly, or are valuable to be chopped down for the parts. Given the
relatively low demand for SEC parts by the general market (not
talking about us SEC enthusiasts) I'm not sure that the SEC parts are
in hot demand by thieves.

If it's really that easy to defeat, if I were you I'd just remove/
disable the old Clifford alarm (as well as the factory alarm, which
is probably on the blink as most at this age are, anyway) and use
your key to lock and unlock the car.

Cheers,
Gerry
