Frank Sbarro, originally from southern Italy, did most of his design work
out of Switzerland and now has a museum dedicated to his work in France, did
a number of gullwing-door cars on the same theme.
Most of them were built in the 1980s on the W126 SEC chassis, but some were
built using W116 donor cars. The cars all have the W126 styling cues, but
I've been told that very few panels are stock.
I have no idea why he would use the W116 as a platform, perhaps the
hydraulic suspension or the lure of a 6.9L M100 engine.
