Rick - Had the same problem on both my 300SEL & my 560SEC. My problem was
the vacuum control units in the dash. By the way while you are in there
replace ALL 3 of them. - Terry

For the relay, are you asking where its located or for a part number?

 

I believe the service manual has a diagnostics section for debugging the
climate control.  It could be one of a couple things:

 

1) vacuum issue

2) pushbutton unit

 

Those two come to mind to start, but could be other things.

I need to know which relay is the rear window defogger 

also no matter which button on the climate control  I push, I still get air
blowing from the windshield defroster vents.  Has anyone had this problem
and how to fix.   Thanks  Rick
