Dick,
Thanks I will go to work on all of these things.
On the side window brush, it is new and we have poured
Water directly down the back side window to find out if the
Drains in that panel were plugged. Water ran right out on to
The floor.

Hi Barry:
Reading your posts it looks as if you have covered all the usual
suspects and this includes checking under the rear coupe seat cushions
which are dry.
I am wondering if your side coupe window brush is leaking. Perhaps you
can flood the rear side coupe window for a period of time as the water
will take some time to travel to the interior from wherever the leak is
located. This is a costly one-piece unit that wraps around the outer
side glass is joined at the door pillar and is attached to the inner
window brush that runs inside. By the way I have never seen a leak from
the window brush area but, I've never worked on an SEC or MB with the
kinds of mileage you have racked up.
As another test of sorts, I would lift the door sill plastic out of the
car and place a piece of paper towel up near the carpet cut-off and
close to the jam then run a strong stream of water along just the window
glass and door area (no roof) to see if the paper towel gets wet. If
yes, you have at least narrowed the leak to the door jam seal where the
front door glass bead meets the rear glass seal.
If no, I would also take a paper towel and fit it into the rear foot
well heater duct (this is under the driver's seat). Then run a strong
stream of water for some time about dead center on the windscreen/wiper
motor fascia. Then check to see if the paper towel in the duct gets wet
or if the carpet becomes wet in the rear area as you typically see. In
these two tests you are checking to see if the front wiper pan drains
and the center drain are either plugged or if the inner firewall has
developed a leak from rust. The water can be carried through the heater
box out onto the floor area under the driver's carpet and may not be
noticed due to the heavy insulated backing under the front carpet.
Again, allow a few minutes to see if the leak appears.
Maybe worth another check even though you have done this or had someone
do it. With sunroof open, be certain an extension wand on an air
compressor is used to get right into the a-pillar corners and that you
do in fact hear the air escaping behind the front wheel cavity inner
plastic trim. If you hear air escaping down low on the inner wheel well
you are all set. If no air escapes down there, one or both drains are
really plugged solid. Let me know how you fare in these few tests.
